Chris Kress Wins The Southern Oregon Bigfoot; S. Flowers And Butcher Also Collect Victories
White City, Oregon- Southern Oregon Speedway returned to racing on Saturday, July 30th. They would have ample money on the line for the Dwarf Cars as they were in action for The Bigfoot. Additionally, the Outlaw Pro Stocks and Sport Compacts were also in attendance.
When the checkered flags dropped in the Dwarf Cars, Chris Kress would collect the trophy and the big payday. It is the Roseburg racer’s first win of 2022 at Southern Oregon.
Medford’s Kalvin Morton ended the night second while Tommy Velasquez III, from Camarillo, California, and racing for Shane Youngren, was third. Glendale, Arizona native John Foster and Camden Robustelli of Medford were fourth and fifth.
Scott Flowers was once again triumphant in the Outlaw Pro Stock ranks. The Klamath Falls veteran has now accrued three wins at SOS this season. Colby Hammond of Bonanza was the runner-up, followed by third finishing Julia Flowers, also from K-Falls. Ken Irving beat Medford’s Matt Harlow for fourth place in the finishing order.
Vanessa Butcher took care of business in the Sport Compact division. The White City racer earned her first win on the current campaign. Medford motorists Ally Luna-Richey and Dionna Claus were second and third. Yreka, California driver Kennie Jones put in a fourth-place effort.
Southern Oregon Speedway will be back in action on Saturday, August 6th. Classes on the card include Sprint Cars, IMCA Northern SportMods, Dwarf Cars, and Mini Stocks. For more information, log on to www.southernoregonmotorsports.com.
