White City, Oregon- Southern Oregon Speedway hosted a great night of racing on Saturday, August 6th. The 3/8-mile dirt oval hosted four divisions on the card, including Sprint Cars, IMCA Northern SportMods, Dwarf Cars, and Mini Stocks.

Tanner Holmes took care of business in the Sprint Car main event. The Jacksonville-based driver dominated the distance to pick up his first SOS win of the season. Jake Wheeler, from Central Point and driving the Roger Henderson-owned machine, was the runner-up, with Medford’s Enrique Jamie getting third. Klamath Falls teenager Ryan Hirschbock beat out Austin Sause, of Coos Bay, for fourth place.

In IMCA Northern SportMod action, Ryan Peery again took care of business. The Yreka, California chauffeur captured his second win this year at Southern Oregon. Yreka’s Ethan Killingsworth and Tyler Rodgers, from Chico, were second and third, making it an all-California podium. Medford racer Branden Wilson hit the line fourth over fifth finishing Jace Wright of Gazelle, California.

Kalvin Morton, from Medford, hoisted the winner’s trophy to the sky when the dust settled. Medford motorists Josh King and Camden Robustelli were second and third place at the line. Devin LaHorgue, of Grants Pass ended the evening fourth with fifth going to Crescent City, California’s Colby Bergquist.

White City’s Ashtin Hedges continued his winning ways in the Mini Stock ranks. Hedges now has made five trips to victory lane in 2022. Scott Yerges placed second, with third going to Dylan Irving of Grants Pass. Tim Hedges and Grants Pass pilot Brandyn Wonsyld were fourth and fifth in the finishing order.

Southern Oregon Speedway is set for a doubleheader weekend this Friday, August 12th, and Saturday, the 13th. Friday will feature Super Late Models, IMCA Modifieds, and IMCA Northern SportMods. Saturday night will have a $4000 to win Super Late Model main event, the return of the IMCA Modifieds, and the appearance of Mini Stocks.
