Bricen James Wins Bruce Rayburn Classic At Southern Oregon Speedway; Killingsworth And A. Hedges Also Victorious
White City, Oregon- Southern Oregon Speedway kicked off a doubleheader weekend with the Bruce Rayburn Classic presented by the Pacific Sport Mods on Friday, August 19th. IMCA Modifieds were the headliner of the bout as they fought for $5500.00 to win the main event. IMCA Northern SportMods and Mini Stocks were also in attendance.

Bricen James would score the massive victory in the IMCA Modifieds once the checkered flag dropped. It is the first time the Albany racer, driving for car owner Jerry Schram, has won at Southern Oregon Speedway this year. Coburg’s Jesse Williamson was the runner-up, followed by Nick Trenchard of Klamath Falls and driving for Biehn Racing, in third. In the Jimmy Schram fielded entry, Corbett chauffeur Collen Winebarger ended the evening fourth with Ryan McDaniel from Marysville, California, earning fifth. Justin McCreadie from Phoenix won the B Main earlier in the night.

Ethan Killingsworth made another appearance in victory lane in the IMCA Northern SportMods. The Yreka, California driver now has three wins at SOS in 2022. Brentwood, California’s Fred Ryland and Matt Sanders of Brookings were second and third. California youngsters Ryan Peery from Yreka and Chico native Tyler Rodgers were fourth and fifth. Matt Sanders and Springfield’s Daniel Ray were the two B Main victors.

Lastly, Ashtin Hedges continued his winning trend in the Mini Stocks. The White City driver now has seven triumphs in the division. Quinty Ericks, from Klamath Falls, was second, while Scott Yerges got third. Tim Hedges beat out Montague, California’s Logan McKnight, for fourth.

On Saturday, August 20th, the IMCA Northern SportMods will duke it out for $3,000 to win the Dwayne Melvin Clash, also presented by the Pacific Sport Mods. IMCA Modifieds will return, and the Super 4’s will also be on the bill. For more information, log on to www.southernoregonmotorsports.com.
