Garen Linder Dominates Dave's Home Supply Iron Head Sprints Feature At Southern Oregon Speedway

White City, Oregon-The Dave's Home Supply Iron Head Sprints kicked off their May portion of their schedule on Friday, the 17th, with a visit to Southern Oregon Speedway. Seventeen entries would inhabit the pits for the third race of the current campaign for the tour.
Once the main event started, Garen Linder took the top position when the green flag dropped. The Central Point pilot set a good pace, and it took only seven circuits before lapped traffic became a factor. Jake Wheeler, also from Central Point and racing for car owner Roger Henderson, tried to give chase and stay in stride with Linder but stayed ahead of all challengers.
Eventually, some thick traffic got into the mix, stacking up the front runners nearby each other, with Medford's Bailey Hibbard coming into the fray. Despite the pressure, Linder was able to rise to the occasion and keep his mount ahead of the rest of the contenders.
Three more stoppages occurred, including two red flags. Still, it did not deter Linder's dominance as he went on to win his first career Dave's Home Supply Iron Head Sprint Series main event. Jake Wheeler was second, followed by Blaine Cory, from Central Point and running for Brandon Governor, in third. Grants Pass pilot R.J. McGahuey and Johnny Burke of Eagle Point were the balance of the Top 5, in fourth and fifth.
The Dave's Home Supply Iron Head Sprint Series returns to Southern Oregon Speedway tonight to conclude its doubleheader weekend.
