Mother’s Day Special Race Recap | Southern Oregon Speedway
Southern Oregon Speedway celebrated Mother’s Day weekend with a packed night of racing action on the White City clay featuring Late Models, SODCA Dwarfs, IMCA SportMods, IMCA Modifieds, and 360 Sprints.
Late Models
Bob Dees set fast time with a 16.790, while John Duffie picked up the heat race win. In the 15-lap feature, Richard Papenhausen drove from sixth to the front to grab the victory. Dave Everson finished second, with Bob Dees rounding out the podium.
SODCA Dwarfs
Cody Peters topped qualifying with a 16.576. Heat race wins went to Josh King and Cadyn Smith. In the 25-lap main event, Josh King backed up his heat win with a feature victory. Chad Cardoza came home second, followed by Brock Peters in third.
IMCA SportMods
Vinny Debenedetti was quickest in qualifying with a 16.981. Heat race winners were Rich McCoy, Jorddon Braaten, and Brian Poppa Sr. The 25-lap feature saw Cory Biggs charge from 10th to take the win. Rich McCoy finished second, and Isaac Sanders claimed third.
IMCA Modifieds
Mark Wauge paced qualifying with a 16.512. Heat race victories went to Matt Sanders, Ethan Killingsworth, and Ryan Peery. Grey Ferrando started on the pole and held strong to win the 25-lap main event. Mark Wauge finished second, with Kevin Williamson taking third.
360 Sprints
RJ McGahuey set fast time with a 12.995 and also picked up a heat race win. Chris Salyer won the second heat. In the 25-lap feature, David Hibbard led the way to victory. RJ McGahuey drove from eighth to second, and Austin Sause completed the podium in third.
